Haha. I've dreamed and talked and fantasised and ranted about this moment for bloody years, and now it's finally happened! In my hands (well, not right now, obviously, but you get the idea) I have... *drum roll*... a DSLR! My very own Canon EOS 450D! Hahaha. I know that's no biggie for most of you out there, but I've lumbered with my battered old compact for so many years that this feels like heaven! I can't wait to get some time off from my two jobs so I can get out there and see what it can do. Already I can see from the few test pictures I've taken that I will have to get used to a whole different level of picture quality (obviously). Weee! Happy days are here to stay!


Yes, I am a happy little pixie as of late. Apart from wearing myself out working two jobs (I sulk about it all the time, when it's really no one's fault but my own that I decided to take both of them on, but yeah), I'm living the life. Still very much in love, sickeningly so, and not really looking forward to being without him for two weeks as he's going to Svalbard to collect water (it's all to do with his Master's Degree in Chemistry). I have also discovered a new (to me, at least) band, following this week's Mercury Prize nominations. Florence + The Machine... what can I say? My previous favourite for the prize was Bat for Lashes, whom I love just as dearly, but after listening to Florence + The Machine for the last hour or so, I can't really decide on my favourite anymore. I feel both elated and sad, deeply touched and intrigued. Absolutely spectacular album!
